  • The employee’s own illness, injury, health condition, or medical appointment;
  • To care for a family member with an illness, injury, health condition, or who needs a medical appointment;
  • Safety leave, when the employee or employee’s family member is the victim of domestic abuse, sexual assault, or stalking;
  • The closure of the employee’s workplace by order of a public official or for a public health emergency; and
  • To care for a family member whose school or place of care is:
    • Closed by order of a public official or for a public health emergency
    • Closed due to inclement weather, loss of water, power or heating, or other unexpected challenges

Use of SST and Maximum Carryover

Salaried employees are required to take SST in half-day increments (4-hours); hourly employees are required to take SST in one-hour increments. The maximum carryover at the end of each calendar year (December 31) is 80 hours. For clarity, a maximum cumulative balance of 80 hours may be carried over into any new calendar year.

Notice and Documentation

The Company may require advance notice of at least seven (7) days for SST use that is foreseeable.

Employee Responsibilities

Employees are responsible for managing their SST balance using the Paycom Time Off system. Employees are required to submit SST requests through Paycom.

Retaliation

The Company will not discriminate or retaliate against employees for requesting or taking leave in accordance with this policy.
